Now that you\u2019ve had a little bit of practice with the indicator tools that the MT4 platform provides, it\u2019s time for you to move on to the next stage of your MT4 training: how to install an expert advisor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An expert advisor<\/strong>, otherwise known in the forex world as an \u201cEA,\u201d is basically a program that you install onto the platform that will automatically follow a trader\u2019s instructions once a certain criteria has been met.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a sense, you can call it \u201cautomated trading\u201d as you don\u2019t even have to be touching your mouse and keyboard for orders to be entered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The advantage of using an EA is that if you already have a mechanical system in place, you can create an EA to replicate the actions required once your system gives you a signal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is particularly useful if you like trading multiple pairs or if you just don\u2019t have the time to be in front of your computer to trade.But before we get to the part on how to install an EA, be WARNED that there are many people out there offering EA programs that may not perform as advertised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They will tell you that their EA system has made them thousands of pips without them having to do a thing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019re not saying it\u2019s impossible, but unless they show you account statements that are audited by a highly reputable, third-party accounting firm, take it with a grain of salt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Transferring files<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Step: 1 Go to File<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step: 2 Click on Open Data Folder<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step: 3 Open MQL4 Folder<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step: 4 GO TO Experts Folder<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step: 5
Copy and Paste the EA file into this Experts folder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step: 6
Go To Navigator Right Click on it to Refresh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step: 7
you will Find your EA Listed Here.
Double Click on it to RUN or Drag it on any chart you want to RUN.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step: 8
Make sure that Allow live trading and allow DLL import are checked in the common.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step: 9
Now in the inputs
Set your preferred settings for the EA and press ok<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step: 10
After your setup is ready click on the auto-trading Button to turn it to green (Indicates that it is ON).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step: 11
After the setup is done you will see the name of the EA with a smile beside it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
